What is a Slot?

Slot is the space between the faceoff circles in an offensive zone. There are two types of slots: the low slot, right in front of the goaltender, and the high slot, in the middle of the ice above the faceoff circles. The high slot is the place where the puck is placed when it is not on the ice and the defenders cannot see it. The slot can be used to create a scoring opportunity by creating a shooting lane.

Slot

A slot is a binary relation that can fit any morpheme sequence. The word is a part of many words and can be used to refer to a job, assignment, or position. For example, in a newspaper, a job position is named after a “slot”. The chief copy editor is assigned to the corresponding slot. Another common application of a slot is in the air traffic control tower. In order to make an aircraft land in the appropriate spot, the plane must be placed in the right-hand lane.

If the airplane lands on the right side of the runway, the slot should be on the left. Then, the slot will be on the right-hand side of the plane’s wing. In a similar way, slots are also known as ‘crash gutter.’ In an emergency, it can cause a crash or malfunction. The best way to avoid this is to check with the airline. The slot will allow the pilot to land safely.
