This process can change settlement patterns, putting coastal communities at greater risk of tsunamis in the future. The impact of the tsunami was also felt not only physically, but also psychologically. Eyewitnesses to disasters often experience long-term trauma, which can impact their mental health and well-being. A community-based approach that includes post-disaster counseling will be very necessary to overcome this problem. In addition, ecosystems damaged by the tsunami take a long time to recover. Coral reefs and mangrove forests, which serve as natural protection, are often severely damaged. Ecological restoration is not only important for environmental sustainability, but also for supporting local economies through tourism and fisheries. The rise of technology also provides new hope in mitigating tsunami risk. Monitoring tools and data-based prediction models can provide faster and more accurate information, strengthening community preparedness in facing disasters. Drones and underwater sensors are now being used to detect changes that could trigger tsunamis. Developing responsive and inclusive public policies is also crucial. Governments must work together with scientists, local communities and NGOs to create effective mitigation plans. Counseling, evacuation drills and disaster risk studies play an important role in building brand resilience. Various local and international initiatives have also been undertaken to help communities recover after the tsunami.
